[A profile of an Altamira soil.]The Altamira series consists of deep, well drained, moderately permeable soils that formed in material that weathered from soft limestone bedrock. These soils are on hills. Slopes range from 2 to 60 percent.

Taxonomic class: Coarse-loamy, carbonatic, isohyperthermic Typic Haplocalcids
