[A profile of an Arundel soil.]The Arundel series consists of moderately deep, well drained, and very slowly permeable soils. These soils formed in marine deposits consisting of acid clays underlain by horizontally bedded sandstone, buhrstone, and siltstone. They are in dissected uplands of the Southern Coastal Plain. Slopes range from 2 to 35 percent.

Taxonomic class: Fine, smectitic, thermic Typic Hapludults
