The Bama series consists of very
deep, well drained, moderately permeable soils on high stream or marine
terraces. These soils formed in thick beds of loamy sediments. Near the type
location, the average annual air temperature is about 67 degrees F and the
average annual precipitation is about 63 inches. Slope is commonly 0 to 8
percent, but ranges to 15 percent.
