The Falkner series consists of
deep, somewhat poorly drained soils that formed in a thin silty mantle and the
underlying clayey marine deposits. Permeability is slow. These nearly level
and gently sloping soils are in uplands and on stream terraces of the Southern
Mississippi Valley Silty Uplands, Blackland Prairie, and the Southern Coastal
Plain Major Land Resource Areas. Slopes range from 0 to 8 percent.
