The Grady series consists of poorly
drained, slowly permeable soils that formed in thick beds of marine sediments of
the Coastal Plain. These soils are mostly in upland depressions but are also
along drains. Slopes range from 0 to 2 percent. Near the type location, the mean
annual temperature is about 67 degrees F and the mean annual precipitation is
about 53 inches.
