[A profile of a Halso soil.]The Halso series consists of deep, moderately well drained, very slowly permeable soils that formed in clayey and shaly marine sediments. These soils are on uplands and hill slopes of the Southern Coastal Plain. Slopes range from 1 to 25 percent.

Taxonomic class: Fine, smectitic, thermic Vertic Hapludults
