The La Tea series consists of shallow, well drained, slowly permeable soils that formed in colluvium and residuum that weathered from limestone bedrock. These soils are on limestone hills and mountains. Slopes range from 20 to 60 percent.

Taxonomic class: Clayey, vermiculitic, isohyperthermic, shallow Typic Argiudolls
