[A profile of a Lucy soil.]The Lucy series consists of very deep, well drained, moderately permeable soils on uplands. These soils formed in sandy and loamy marine and fluvial sediments of the Southern Coastal Plain. Slopes range from 0 to 45 percent. Near the type location, the average annual precipitation is about 53 inches and the average annual air temperature is about 65 degrees F.
