Okolona Soil

The Okolona series consists of
deep, well drained very slowly permeable soils in uplands of the Blackland
Prairie Major
Land Resource Area. These are nearly level to gently sloping soils that formed
in calcareous clayey material that is
underlain by marly clay and chalk. These soils have very high shrink-swell
potential. Slopes range from 0 to 5 percent.
