[A profile of a Pacolet soil.]The Pacolet series consists of very deep, well drained, moderately permeable soils that formed in material weathered mostly from acid crystalline rocks of the Piedmont uplands. Slopes commonly are 15 to 25 percent but range from 2 to 80 percent.
