[A profile of a Savannah soil.]The Savannah series consists of moderately well drained, moderately slowly permeable soils that have a fragipan. These soils formed in loamy marine or fluvial terrace deposits. These nearly level to moderately steep soils are on uplands and terraces in the Southern Coastal Plain. Slopes range from 0 to 15 percent.

Taxonomic class: Fine-loamy, siliceous, semiactive, thermic Typic Fragiudults
